It appears to be the handbreak mechanism and only on one side.I can free it up with the usual tap/bang with a hammer and then spray it with some WD40 (only on the spring section) but after about a week it starts to stick again.The haynes manual tells you not to dismantle that part of the caliper.Apart from fitting another unit I don't know what else to try. Any ideas..... Quote

When the pads are replaced you should do both sides, does the same rule apply to calipers ? Quote

Guest Andy Posted July 24, 2003 Report Posted July 24, 2003 FREDT as usual you are right,i would not bother with trying to unseize such a thing especially at the price a caliper costs,and yes sometimes a new caliper and an old unit can sometimes cause a brake inbalance,but that is quite rare. :rolleyes: :D :D :angry: Quote
